Why do I need a WaterDog, what advantages does it provide?The WaterDog offers a healthy alternative to the warm, stagnant and possibly contaminated water, which can be found in bowls, buckets, troughs and other pet waterers. By providing a fresh, cool and clean source of drinking water on demand, your dog will enjoy his time outdoors more safely.
How does the WaterDog work?The WaterDog uses Ultrasonic Sensing Technology in much the same manner as a Dolphin. This allows the Waterdog to sense the presence of your dog approaching within 3 feet. State of the art microprocessor technology switches the unit on allowing your dog to quench his thirst. After he is finished and leaves, the unit will shut off, readying itself for the next time he is thirsty.
Is it easy to train my dog to use the WaterDog?Most dogs drink when they are thirsty, and only need to be shown how to use it. We have had a lot of success by introducing the dog to the WaterDog and actuating it by hand or bowl and then if necessary holding his favorite treat under the water stream until he eats it and then begins to drink.
Where is the best place to locate the WaterDog?The WaterDog can be easily attached to your outside water hose bib, or faucet. Adjust the height so that the sensing part of the WaterDog is at shoulder height. Adjust the water stream so that it flows away from the direction your dog would approach. This is to cause him to cross the sensing range with his body thus facilitating his being sensed. For example, if your WaterDog is attached to your hose bib and your dog approaches from the left, then the stream should be directed to the right. By doing this your dog will actually position his body directly in front of the sensing area, and thus establish a repeatable experience for him. Does the water falling on the ground cause any problems, such as mud?For your convenience, The WaterDog's built in technology limits the flow of water to minimize excessive mess. For many installations, the normal grass is enough to prevent mud or puddles. In some instances, a layer of mulch, straw or even gravel virtually eliminates any problems.
What size batteries does the WaterDog use?The WaterDog uses 4 C size batteries, and under high use will last 1 year.
Is the WaterDog durable?Yes! It is designed to provide many years of service through its highly durable and chew resistant materials. It is extremely weather resistant. The materials of construction are ABS, with a strong UV inhibitor, which will provide a long life even in hot environments.
What is the warranty?We are proud of our 2 year unconditional warranty. If you have any problems, we will replace the unit. Further, we offer a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. If you are unhappy with your WaterDog unit, we will take it back and return your money!
Can I place my Waterdog away from the hose spigot?Yes, using the WaterDog Remote Location Kit you can place your WaterDog pet fountain anywhere you want. Many people choose to place their WaterDog in the yard where it is more convenient for their dog, or more appealing with the home.
